Preliminary findings of the project GAPRIA will be presented at the 18th Biennial Conference of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA), to be held this year at University of Barcelona, under the overall theme ‘Doing and Undoing Anthropology’. Georgina Christou will be participating in the panel ‘Doing and undoing urban bordering: de-marcations, territorialisations, and resistance’. Her paper will explore the political costs of gentrification processes by asking how activist subjects are produced as evictable through forms of bordering that involve racialization and securitization discourses, as well as resistance to such processes, in Exarchia, Athens.
